2019 Collision Recap: Jered’s Top Picks

Collision Conference 2019 was one for the record books! 25,000+ attendees from over 125 different countries came together to network, educate, and connect over 4 (very long) days in Toronto, Canada. Speakers ranged from Kara Swisher of Recode to Seth Rogan and Terrell Owens, and so many more across a wide range of industries and verticals.

The tagline reads, “Collision brings together the people and companies redefining the global tech industry,” it was nothing short of this. The exhibition floor included early-stage startups (ALPHA), mid-stage startups (BETA), and late-stage startups churning a large profit (GROWTH). Mixed in between were vendors large and small ranging from Mailchimp to Capital One. On the outskirts of the conference lie the many stages filled with eager minds ready to learn from a panel of experts, gain insight on innovative companies, and converse with tech forward-thinking professionals.

Over the course of 4 days, I was lucky enough to not only be an exhibitor but walk the floor and speak with some brilliant founders and hear their stories. Here’s a few that stuck out to me that I want to share with you.

Let’s face it, we constantly being advertised to whether we realize it or not. Websites, social media, television, radio are all mediums for which we receive adverts. What about out-of-home advertising? You might think billboards or vehicle wraps, but this company is doing more than that.

StuckAI is providing an innovative ad platform for new age OOH advertising. Now individuals have the power to advertise their products and services via video behind a glass window on their vehicle. Here’s a video they created which helps tell the story.

Ever wonder how investors are able to spot the latest unicorn? Or are you curious about how they know whether or not a company will truly be profitable? In comes Boss Insights.

“Our AI-based portfolio management system and forecasting tool unlocks access to private company data and predicts future performance so that investors and lenders can focus on revenue-generating opportunities.”

Do you ever feel like there’s not enough time in the day for all your work-related tasks? Same here. You can hire an employee, personal assistant or VA, or consider using a tool like TaskAway.

Their service is designed as the above but for a fraction of the cost. Using advanced technology, they are able to routinize tasks and complete them while you’re focusing on the important stuff.

Finding talent is no easy feat. Finding young talent isn’t any easier. Many companies offer internships to local students in the hopes of finding that one superstar. Heck, we’re lucky enough to have found one ourselves, but this isn’t always the case.

GenM can help you find your next marketing superstart through their innovative matching service. As a company, you can search for talent based on the industry and specialties then filter the results based on a number of other preferences. The best part is it’s only $49/month and you’ll have LIFETIME access to their network of talent.

The cannabis industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the market today. Thousands upon thousands of new jobs are being created while companies drive toward creating the next big product. Cannabis retailers don’t yet have systems catered to their industry, until now.

Having just recently launched, Cannabit has created the first global cannabis platform for owners, retailers, and investors. With more service offerings and options than one can count on two hands, this company is bringing a much-needed resource to an ever-growing industry.

If you’re a startup or tech company and considering Collision conference, I’d highly recommend attending next year!
