A source who wants to get to know me should know…

Just approach me and chat. Reach out to me on LinkedIn and let me know what’s up. Just be direct. If you’re about pitches, then pitch first and chat later; But please do that after reading this short list of guidelines (see second to last question for more info). For everything else – just talk to me. I’m approachable.

The most fascinating person I’ve met was __ because __…

Dr. Martin Weiss from Weiss Ratings, without a doubt, because he showed me that you can rise from rags to riches and still care deeply about your employees and people around you. I’ve worked with him for 8 years and in many ways have adopted his work ethics and attitude towards others as my own way of doing things.

These days, I’ve been pretty obsessed with…

International law and politics, but my interests shift. I also care – deeply – about MedTech, science, technology, military tech, futurism, FinTech, and breakthroughs. When I’m not writing, I’m reading about them. Oh, and also Brawlhalla. Google it.

The accomplishment I am most proud of is…

Wearing many hats. I’m a marketer, coder, web, graphic and print designer, jurist, journalist, and an avid gamer. I use this multi-pronged approach to provide my clients – and readers – with a unique long-term big-picture outlook.

My “kind of sources” are those who are…

Honest, straight-to-the-point, literate and knowledgeable about their topic.

People would never guess that I…

Spend most of my free time exercising or gaming. Preferably both. Add me on Steam.

I met my best “PR” friend by…

I have yet to meet my best “PR” buddy 🙁

The most essential part of a working relationship is…

Trust, communication, courtesy, professionalism. In that order.

Please do not send me pitches about…

Anything that isn’t within my scope of topics I cover in a certain publication and please use this rule narrowly. If I’m writing about the latest multi-million dollar NASA project, it doesn’t mean that I’m interested in covering that amazing “space-age” toothbrush simply because you added “space-age” to it. It doesn’t work that way. I don’t review products. I don’t do crowdfunded projects.

If I had every publicist’s attention for 30 seconds I would tell them…

Whatever you have for me, has to be big. Think CTO of AMD. Think scientist that just made an amazing discovery. A new car that runs on solar power. A space rocket that will forever change the way we take to the stars. You get the gist. And please, no FWDs. No Re: without me ever responding in the first place. No “touching base.” These will get you blacklisted/unsubscribed. Ok, that sounded harsh, but it’s a result of me getting hundreds of pitches per day. In the end, I only accept 1-2 per year. Help me get these numbers up.
